The Experience Design Lab (ExD Lab) at the Department of Design, IIT Hyderabad, conducts design research, develops experience-driven solutions, and applies design knowledge to complex social contexts. Led by faculty and supported by researchers and students, the lab focuses on uncovering untapped opportunities that can drive positive societal change.

Dr. Anusmita Das
Founder & Faculty-in-charge
Anusmita is an alumnus of the Department of Design, IIT Guwahati where she pursued her Master’s and Ph.D. in Design.
As one of the founding members of NID Madhya Pradesh, she played a crucial role in establishing the Foundation Studies Department of the institute.
Anusmita has also worked extensively with Tech startups as a UX Designer, designing software applications that focus on user needs.
Owing to her diverse experience in academics and industry, her interests lie in domains that allow her to explore design and research inquiries rooted in the Indian cultural context.

Vidhi Siwal
PhD Research Scholar
Vidhi Siwal is a PhD Research Scholar at the Experience Design Lab, Department of Design, IIT Hyderabad.
She is currently working in the area of financial inclusion and the digital turn for rural women in India.
Abhimanyu Tiwari
PhD Research Scholar
Abhimanyu Tiwari is a Staff UX Researcher at ServiceNow, leading research for AI-powered enterprise solutions within Core Business Service Workflows.
With over a decade of experience across Legal, Healthcare, BFSI, Telecom, and IT services, he specializes in mixed-method research and design thinking to translate complex user needs into actionable, human-centred insights.
